choppin up samples

can y'all explain how to break a sample up? after breaking it
how do you assign them to different pads?

when you save the chop as a sound, go to the program menu, select the pad, and select the sound for that pad.

You can also use the Zoning feature. It will split the sample up into 16 sections and assign them to all the pads on bank A

Yea that is a nice feature of the MP2000and up, but the MPC1000 dosn't have it.... maybe one day .

I chop my samples randomly, this way I can get some unexpected melodies

yeah, thats why you shouldnt loop a loop in the expected spot either, cause sometimes there will be a loop and no one will even hear it until you do it, thats really the only time i loop, when its hidden. Other wise you chop, and chop randomly works the same way.
