When I record in to my PC (Using Terratec DMX 6 Fire) I thought about using the Coax I/O's to get a more leveled clean sound. Since the switch all of my recordings have these annoying clicks and pops like the Master Clock is off. 44kHz from MPC to PC. When I just playback from the MPC through the Dig Out it's flawless. But when its tim e to record I make sure all of the junk background programs used are shutdown, but, I still get the clicks. This still happens when I made the switch from Cool Edit to Sound forge now. My engineer buddy told me that the master clocks are off between the MPC and PC and I need to adjust the software clock to eliminate those clicks. There is just one problem I see none of those options in Cool Edit nor Sound forge. Any suggestions are great. P.S. I use a 60 dollar Coaxial Monster Cable from my 5.1 surround sound days, do you think it might be damaged or something else?
try this...
go into the configuration page or menu for your pc's audio device and set the master clock to SPDIF (if the option is available). Try the transfer again.
