Definitive Sound Thread... HOW DOES IT SOUND COMPARED TO>>

I AM GOING TO FINALLY DO IT... SAMPLE ONE SAMPLE INTO THESE MACHINES...

MODS... STICKY THIS!!!

MPC 1000
MPC 2000XL
MPC 3000
MPC 5000
AKAI S2000
AKAI S6000
SP-12 (EMU SYSTEMS)
MIRAGE (ENSONIQ)
EPS 16+ (ENSONIQ)
ASR 10 (ENSONIQ)

WILL BE ADDING MPC 1000 AND 4000 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

ANYONE HAVE SUGGESTIONS FOR WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO HEAR (NEXT 20 MINUTES) DRUM BREAK? SAMPLE?

I WILL BE ONLY SAMPLING VINYL.

sample a james brown something or rather... also the amen break. how about waltz of the flowers too... some bob james, a bit of barry white and anything else you can think of.

I have thus far figured out that MONSTER cable 1/4 inch instrument cables sound like shit :/

Everyone sounds exactly the same thru it.

Sampled flat from vestax, mono...

wouldn't be a bad idea to also sample into each machine pitched up a certain amount going in (playing a 33rpm record at 45 rpm), and then pitching it down when you play back the sample. i know the sp12 will kill everything in comparison with the ringy aliasing that everyone is familiar with, but it would still be interesting to hear how the other machines sound doing this technique in comparison.

if not pitching up and down for all of them, at least hearing the ensoniq samplers pitching up/down in comparison to the sp12 would be cool.

either way, always entertaining to hear some more comparisons between machines i'll probalbly never get the chance to own... :lol:
