simple program to listen to sounds for mac

is there a good simple little program i can listen to individual hits & samples in without having to open itunes every time?

i had a good program for pc called foobar.. was wondering if there was some thing similar for mac?

go into the sample folder.
press the space bar.
that will play the file in preview mode.

quick and easy and you dont need another program.

Use the Finder window. You can preview audio straight from there.

Check out the top window in this image:

Set quicktime as the default player. It opens jusr a lil play bar. You can even set loop points with it. Right click a .wav, get info, set the opens with quicktime as default for same file types.

if i have a folder with audio in it. hit the space bar to play it, then use the right arrow key to skim thru the tracks in that folder.

on a mac that is...

you know when logic arrives for me in the mail i'll prob end up getting that program.. i like the fact u can listen and chop straight away and dump what you want into logic... it keeps your daw a lot cleaner & clearer... very nice cheers

Space bar works for me every time, plus gives you a visual on all the main meta data for the file.

once you've auditioned one sound in a folder, just press the arrow down button to move through the rest without needing to press the space bar again.

If you want a lightweight audio player for OS X, try Vox.

i bought it

cost me $70 but it's easier to listen and chop than logic

logics browser sucks
