Hey what do you cats clean your records with? My joints are dusty ass hell but I dont know what to clean them with..

I got this velvet wiper and cleaning solution from Radio Shack for about $9. Really good.

the Radio shack wiper comes with a diluted alcohol solution.

I use rubbing alcohol on a non abrasive cloth once in a while, but if the record is really dirty be careful - the dirt can cause scratches

I think the industrial alchohol (like at homedepot) you find at a hardware store works better than the alcohol you'll find at the drugstore for records.

You can dilute the alcohol with distilled water (you can buy it in a jug at the grocery store) so it's not so harsh on your vinyl.

I´m using a Mixture of Isopropyl-Alcohol and distilled Water 50/50.
Put a little amount on the record, work it in with a velvet wiper and remove it with a microfiber-cloth...

one of those cleaning machines had a vacum on it.

Now why didn't I think of that. a straight vacume cleaner could do wonders.

how do you get rid of static off records? you know, when you puill one out of its plastic sleeve and you hear all that crackling before it's on the turntable?

I see some anti static device for 68 bucks but shit, thats alot of records!
