Logic users and protools too

when i record audio in logic and play it back it sounds nice and crisp the way it sounded going in. When i save this audio file and then later open it in pro tools, it sounds alot lower in volume. Is there anyway i can get pro tools to open files to sound the same as they did in logic??

Pro tools messes stuff up on purpose, maybe the mixer settings default to a lower value?

thanks. It just seems as though logic has alot more headroom before a sound will clip. In pro tools it seems i cant get a good level b4 clipping, like i do in logic.

now aint tht a b1tch, all tht money and you aint got headroom, which system of pro tools you running, what rate you , bit?sample rate you recorded the wave at, and what default settings are on protools.
i have been investigating thier systems for 2 weeks continually and begining to realise tht it is just a name your buyinh into.

even the most expensive PT stuff only runs at 24 bit, logic is 32 bit floating point and eats PT for breakfast.

Even Sonar eas PT for breakfast, but we all know how important popularity contests are.

41? is tht what you select, ? cause i know the mbox runs at 48khz, try doing it the otherway around, record into protools ,save as wave then import into logic, see if there is any difference. and besises logic having tht 32 bit float point, what sample rate are you running, (logic)

i am going to take this info into serious consideration, and as a mark against pro tools,

if this is the case as pro tools having such lower headroom, then what good is it, ,if u even cant have a good signal/ratio, and headroom from the strt???

also i have word tht you should export any logic recorded program with tthe wav files as an "OMF" file, this should compensate for tht additional headroom, try it let us know.

you know i thought that exporting as omf might help . I am gonna try it tonite. I will let you know , thanks

i was just informed that you need the Digitranslator 2.0 option which costs about $500 to open omf files. Can anyone confirm this?

well the info i got was that logic can export straight OMF.

Any beat done in Logic will sound much more clearer and richer
basically it's how you operate your software and yes you can
tell the difference in sound quality once you upload your beat
in Logic from Pro-tools.

In Pro-tools it's the plugs that make the difference and when
you purchase it they do not give you enough plugs to get the
job done so Digidesign makes you pay for every little thing
thats right after all the money you spend on their products
I still dont think it matches the crystal clear quality in Logic.
