They Stole My Sample

Man, I had this hot sample!!! It was from... well never mind where I got it, but it was hot!!! I spend two days with this sample and I finally create an entire rough draft song with it. Only to find out the next day, that Tweet's newest song "Turn Off The Lights" or something used the exact same sample. When I heard the song, I thought to myself, "I can't believe they "stole" my sample."

Throw away a beat because someone else used the sample? Thats just silly... especially if you had a hot track. Chances that your track would make it to mainstream is slim to none anyway. I'm sure you could hustle that track into a buyer's hands if it's hot. Regardless of whether someone used the same sample as you. I try to avoid using samples someone else used like everyone else. But if I make a song, then hear the same sample in a song later on.... you better believe I'm not throwing mine away. I probably flipped it a different way anyway. Just my 2 cents.

I forgot where I got that stat from. But it refers to everything entertainment.. not just music. Stunt men, camera crews, engineers, etc.

they probably didnt mean 2% out of everybody on earth but a certain number like 2% out of a million people or so anyway back to the original post i hear the same samples on different records all the time just flipped differently the tweet joint is hot but was also jacked by styles p. he just muted some of the other shit in it and kept the sample on loop 50cent jacked it too so like the other guy said it is possible to sell the same sample to different artist because ur rendition will be different. Also on Lloyd banks album the track when the chips r down is the same sample used by cool and dre on fat joes hum drum from terror squad but they kept the full sample as where the banks one had hum drum filtered out just to keep when the chips r down.

"Make it" is the key phrase man, like %10 will actually have a career in an entertainment business, and then maybe %2 of THOSE people will actually
