Producers and Traditional Degree's

How many industry producers do you think have college degrees?
Just curious to know.

well i have a masters degree in computer science,

david banner got his master's degree from university of maryland.

Lil wanye just started university of houston for business.

needlz got his bacholors degree from FAMU in business did some grad work at NY

Stat quo got is bacholors degree at the university of florida in business

and what about producers?

education teaches everything the longer way, and it teaches you how to use tools rather then the actual skills itself.

mann.. forget that mess, education gives you a foundation. Thats the problem with cats today they think they can do it all on their own. 99% of the problems in the black community can be traced to a lack of education. TO many cats have this get rich quick mentalitity

I know personally my education allows me to do things 99% of cats cant. Having that degree gives you creditbilitiy and security.

I can say Higher Education can be a good foundation but even the Dean at the University I graduated from had to say "we can't make Entrerpreneurs, it has to be in you from the beggining"

Higher Education can give one the proper tools to execute your ideas / plans but it can't teach you how to be a "hustler".

Owning a Hip Hop company takes alot of "street hustle" and you have to be breed in environment that shows you how to hustle on another level.

Higher Education is good for supplying the tools you need, but once again hustlin 101 can't be taught in school!

Hustlin tactics is the reason why you see so many Hip Hop / Former Drug Dealers so successful in the music business.

They transfered there street skillz to the music industry.

O, and for the record the Riches Man In The World is a COLLEGE DROPOUT! = Bill Gates. lol

College is a great start but it dosen't define how successful you will be in any given business.

hey thats crazy cashill im a software engineer for peoplesoft, seems like we have alot in common


Anyway yea of course your right it comes down to the indivudal, but im tired of cats saying education aint important , thats bullshit, yea of course bill gates is a college drop out, but bill gates family was rich BEFORE he founded micosoft(the gates family became millionairs in the 50's) and he is white.. So dont let that college drop out stuff fool you... of course the cat had talent but he also had resources that 99.9% of people would never had access to.

that the avrage joe will not have opperunitites like that, edcucation combined with commen sense and hustle can make u virturally unstoppable. I know personally my education and my background allows me to move in many different circles flawlessly(with crediblitity) i can shoot the shit in the barbershop and i can handle myself in the business world( i am a lead software engineer and head of my development team )

Education also allows me flexablitity, i have travled the world and seen and done things that most 24 year old african americans dream about. Education had givin me that oppertunity

Even more oppertunitiy is provided in the music biz.... when i sit down and talk with industry folk, i can get meetings that most people cant. I am also applying for an IT analyst job at def jam.

If i never make it in the music busniess i will still be making a good living and still be able to do what i want on my OWN terms

Just look that the windows that education AND hustle can open. Cats need to grow up and get over that "school sucks" mentalitity. This is espically hurting the black american communitity. Edcuation is the key to success in any culture.
