TRIMMING WITH NOTE VARIATION SLIDER

did anyone know that u can trim your samples with the note variation slider? some one came to ma crib the other day and told me that. i tried it last night and it works. alot more easier compared to the wheel

which MP are you doing that on? I can't do that on my 60, and I don't recall doing it on the 3k.

it maybe only on the xl. i dont think it can be done on the classic. you gotta hold the shift key and move the slider on the trim screen

I sometimes just type in the numbers into the fields to get me close to where I want, then use the wheel. I don't use my slider for much of anything now that I think about it. Poor neglected slider , I'ma hafta get re-aquainted with it

I have an XL. When I first got my MPC the NV slider was loose and a lil bent like it had been dropped or something was dropped on top of it. I tightend it up and cleaned it when I first saw that thread but no dice . But everything else on the unit works perfectly. Looking to grab a 4000 in a few months though

yeah yeah i know. wanna hear something else crazy? i never flowers with step edit lol. I got my mpc with no manual (and no internet) so i learned the hard way. If i can sequence without step edit, and i can trip samples with the jog wheel, im all set.

im cool with the e-book. not knocking it, but i like to experiment till i get it how i want it.

Man, the data wheel is king...you want sliders get an SP12 or 1200!!..Espeically the 2000 waveform editing, no slider needed. And step edit is just extra handy, if you can't make a beat with the seq.'r as is hang it up. I couldn't agree more with the simple approach..you don't need the manual for the basics ya know!!

Anyway, nuff respect to GRMM D for the info though. I guess on an XL that might be cool cause you ain't got that extra notch selector the 2000 wheel got. I don't know how XL heads can stand that, I guess numerical entry is pretty quick. 5000

yea i just found that out from yall!

i tried it on the 2000 holdin the shift button down and movin the slider. didnt work for me...but tight feature anyway

oh yeah i forget the xls wheel is one piece. whyd they do that?

Cast saving measure. I like the two wheels on the 2000, I don;t like having to use the arrows to change digit places.

But that shift slider thng is dope.
