Pitching a sample but keeping the original tempo

Question? Is there any way on the mpc2000xl you can change the pitch of the sample without changing the original tempo? Please advise any help would be great thanks. I've tried using the time time stretch but not familiar with this sample edit function either.

Yes,that's what we call "time stretch"

i thougth timestrech was when you change tempo without changing the pitch :?:

time stretch is stretching time but keeping the same pitch.

change pitch and use timestretch - what royalty said is correct.

if you own soundforge u can change the pitch and use a function called "Preserve Duration"

yeah time stretch changes tempo and maintains pitch

mpc doesnt have that capability but you should be able to work around it

recylce is a good software that can change pitch and tempo independently

Ableton live is another

Chop Shop has nothing to with his original "change the pitch of the sample without changing the original tempo" question big dog.

And also Chop Shop is not on the 2kxl which he has. :D
