Cool site thanks for sharing......I kind of lost a little respect for the man after listening to most of his samples . Hardly any of them are flipped or chopped , if they are it's nothing you can't do in 2mins. I just thought he was more of a sound designer . I thought a lot of that stuff was super RARE joints , Guess not some of it is recent releases like Bjork and Radiohead ....I would never think of sampling anything thats not over 20yrs old that takes Ballz.

what did he sample from bjork and radiohead? and what shadow songs are these on?

You lost respect for him because of that? Shouldn't you have more respect if he can use modern samples, barely flip 'em, and still make bangin beats that it takes a fan club of thousands to figure out the samples?
I mean, you say it takes balls to do what he does, yet you lose respect for him. Seems contradictory to me.

Not to mention, "Number Song" was based on a huge Metallica sample.

I read somewhere where he said he didn't view any of the newer samples differently because they were all bought second-hand on vinyl, like everything he used at that time.

i was thinking the same thing after listening to a couple originals that he used. he didn't do all that much except dig em outta the dust, which in itself deserves respect, but i assumed that he was doing a lot more choppin and layering.

either way, i was never all upons his jock anyways, but i am kinda disappointed after having heard some of his sample sources.

He did an epic album 'bout 10years ago, "entroducing" It was fast an imprint of theartofsampling, using only an mpc60, mackie1604, adat.
He did not feat. a emcee on the record. it was instrumental of a sort and maked way for a new genre called "trip hop" popular and quite big in euro 94-97, look for label "mo'wax" they have made nice collections over the years, very relaxing music.
