Ive upped a FL template too...

Chopped 'impeach the president' roughly....so you can play with it each time you start a new project.

I've also put an FPC in if you wanna use that for drums or use it for samples...

Project routed like so....

Channel:
1 - Sidechain
2 - Kick
3 - Sub Kick
4 - Snare/Clap
5 - Hi Hats
6 - Sampler (to drop tracks/samples to chop in)
7 - FX
8 - FPC
9 thru 24 - FPC pads 1-16
25 - Drums
26 - Mix

Kick, Sub Kick, Snare, Hats route to Drums Channel (25)
Everything else routes to Mix Channel (26)
FPC routes to Mix Channel (26) at the moment...simply change to Drums (25) if need be
Mix then routes to Master

I have tried cubase and also adobe audition and acid no one could replace fl studio.
I even record vocals/insturments through it.

And it's so easy to use it with only internal Fl plugins for Sample based music.
I even started to mix my shit with the internal VST'S like the filter and eq.
Even though i have waves pack.

Apart from MPC, FL Studio is one of the main tools i use in my studio.
I do a lot of own combination mess with all the tools I have and get my own results.

I love this feature too...you can get creative real quick with this...



having trouble stretching a sample?

Slap it in to an FL sampler, right click the time pot, stretch it accordingly and record into your MPC...deep

Have a really cool phrased loop but it does not much with the tempo settings you put in MPC? Just send it to FL with metronome on, scroll up or down until you match loop with tempo, render to wave as song, then move it back to your MPC and you are done. You may change it to any tempo once you've resaved it as phrased loop. This works for me a lot.

Just send it to FL with metronome on, scroll up or down until you match loop with tempo, render to wave as song, then move it back to your MPC and you are done. You may change it to any tempo once you've resaved it as phrased loop. This works for me a lot.

why move it back to mpc and not finish the beat in fl? sort of redundant way...but whatever works for you

I just wanted to point out that FL is not a real DAW because not that many pro's are using it if any...it's packed with so much shit, leaving people confused whether it's a effects processor or audio editor.

I'd cop pro tools instead and call it a day...Just my two cents.

when i first started out makin beats i used a mpd with the fpc..in conjuction with edison to chop and place samples
was dope..but i can not use fl cuz i can not stand sequencing in that shit ..**** that haha just me tho
to each his own..i mean theres been a couple certified hits made in fl studio..
i still use it to host numerous vst instruments.. but all my sequencing is done in the mp

well the step sequencer is... a step sequencer.... however piano roll is great on fl studio. easy to use and it works solidly.



I like the automation clips too.. you can do some cool stuff with that.



Have any of you played around with the peak controller (found in the fx assignment thing) ... that is killer once you figure out how to use it (which takes like 3 minutes) you can even control knobs with midi notes using that.

Time stretching non-pitched samples is the lamest thing ever. I used to do it all the time and everything I made with that in it sounds way too generic to my ears nowdays.

yeah i use peak controller for side chaining, control reverbs..
you can come up with lots of ideas using that peak controller (im thinking for a second: for example to kill just the bass of a sample every time the kicks hit if you don't want your sidechaining/pumping to be that noticeable in the mids/highs..)
i use it about every time!

damn im going to have to upgrade to version 8 of FL :p (now on 6, works fine for me, but its not completely compatible..)

huh weird i cant seem to get good results with the fruity plugins
