I HAVE THE SAMSON 80A, THEY ARE OK PAID $400 FOR THEM, IT WAS A UPGRADE FROM MY HOME STEREO SPEAKERS.

alesis are dope. i love them. and they hold up really well without cracking and shit. cuz i compared them to the event tr5's tr6's and the m audio 8 ones. and to me the alesis held up the best and put out some nice sounds for the drums.

when you buy monitors you should try to buy ones that don't colour the sound and give you a false image of your mix, monitors that make your shit sound better than it is are not the way. your mix might sound dope through them but then if you listen to it through an average hi-fi you may be missing bass or have some other frequency all **** up and the thing will sound completely different.
A good method is to make your shit sound dope on the worst system your can find, then when it goes through a good system, ... BOOM, no it won't blow up it'll bang harder than ever, then again it could sound poo, lol

I have the Event TR8's & I love them. They ran me about $400. If I had the dough I would have copped the PR8's their the replacement for the 20/20's.

Theres always a give and take when it comes to monitors..in time you will have to adjust your ears to your monitors anyway...but i suggest you go to Guitar center with a cd to test out your choices

That's not neccesarily a bad thing though. But they are extremely flat like a monitor should be. It took me some time to get used to them being that I was mixing with regular house speakers before. They've definately helped with my mixing. No matter what monitors you get you'll have to train your ear to them.
