The real feel of drums is important but not easy to hav it.
I would advise you to just fin the formation that suits you.
See how you wanna work your fingers over the pads.

I some times use
thumb-#1 for kick
finger #2 for snare
finger #5 hi hat
and the other hand on toms crash rimshots etc...
Not convinient at all times though.

Just work your self out. You will find your way
