Any mv users out there!!

JJOS is a whole different game than Akai... having issues with the release schedule/bugs in JJOS and blaming it on an Akai product is a little naive.

Regardless, I'd still take JJOS's spurts of releases than Akai's utter lack of updates. Perhaps the 5k is getting an OS v3 dropped that will change the world, but I wouldn't even bet a penny on that.

I'm 6 months deep with the MV8800. I bought it to downsize my studio and as the centerpiece. So far, with less gear, I have less cables laying around and the studio looks cleaner now.

As a sampler, its nuts, there's always more than one way to do tasks. Chopping is easy, most times I Auto-Chop samples to all 16 pads and manually adjust the points to my liking without affecting the points of the other chops. Effects are dope too but I wish I could chain 3 types of MFX instead of one MFX chained to Delay and Reverb.

I haven't mastered the 8track recorder yet, but when I do my DP01 will be next to be sold.

i would not be surprised if mpcs do the same kind of thing... though I dont think too many tests have been done to find out exactly where the differences lie.

It's easy to chop on it if you move your cursor over from the decimal point ( move it to the left).
You have to be in the current point field in the chop screen

3 or 4 positions over is good for basic chops.

move it closer to the decimal point (one or 2 positions to the left of the decimal point) for fine tuning

the farther you go to the left makes the dial cover more ground
