phono pre amp is a completely different amplifier. u need a phono pre ampp for a turntable or a dj mixer or a reciever, unless i misunderstood you

i think it's generally agreed upon that any weak link in the signal chain is going to affect the sound accordingly...When suggesting something; I am going to assume a scenario in my mind of high quality setup with X needle.

may be a bad idea since i know you ****** is poor.

i wonder if the pre-amps in most vestax mixers make for a good sound? mine seems kind of warm.
