Fightin' Time

yeah I try and make something new everyday, but now I have a harddisk full of idea's and I cant pick which one to flesh out to a whole track when I finally find the time.....

i used fruity loops for like 3 months, all my shit was wack...then i figured out the boom boom bap.

Then I made some nice beats, but never really sampled. Then I bought a mpc2000xl for 800 bones. Messed with that....it steped back my progression because i had to learn the interface....then i learned about 16th, 32nds etc. I never sampled wit hit, i just used the preset drums on the disk, and learned to sequence a cheap yamapa psr 70 walmart keybaord.

Then i went to MARS Music, and saw the triton!

I made a couple beats in the store.....I sold the mpc, and bought a triton le.

MY first real beat was on the triton le. It was real because it didnt sound like wack cheesey, cheap preset sounds, with mpc lame drums from the start disks.

AFter that i made and learned alot about keybaord beats, and made some good stuff.

Then i got sick of the preset sounds, i never really got into sampling at all. THen i bought another MPC because i missed the sequencer interface. I ALSO copped a MOphatt. Made some nice beats. Then I add a triton studio.

FINALLY I got a turntable and ventured into vinyl sampling.....and just about mastered it!!!!!!! ANd wont ever go back.

I THINK THE LAST step lead me to making my first "real beat" Using my keyboard beat skills and applying them to sampling was the best thing, cause now i know how to arrange and build parts from scratch....but now i have sampling. NOW my keyboard beats have improved because of the sampling...and my sampling is good because i know what it takes to build a song.

yeah now im starting to sample so its takin me a bit longer to make a beat. so i understand when u guys are saying it take a month or so. i have alot of ideas to but like i said it takes longer to get it the way u want it of course

When I first got my mpc I was looping ish up the second day, but it took like three weeks to get some real beats going. I still do some weak ish every now and then, but still got bangers out of the beast.
