It happens to me a lot.
I go weeks sometimes without touching my MPC and I'll start it up after a break and the first thing I make may be dope or really honestly sound like bullshit.

The gift of music is strange, it come and it goes. Don't force it or you'll end up like Swiss...

I got a dope HOUSE/909 kit and made a DOPE 4 on the floor POP RECORD. That is something that was really out of character for me but it turn out to be the kitty's titties!!!

Hahaha, i think it's the typical reggaeton rhythm actually! I usually hate this shit, it's like every reggaeton song has the exact same drum pattern
But i thought it was funny and worked quite well

I do this very often. Idk its kinda a subconscious thing, I don't intentionally go weeks without touching the MP it just happens and theirs days where it just like man, I want to make a beat today! I like the fact though, after making beats and taking long periods of times & going back and listening to them you decide whether their dope or not.

I get inspiration sometimes off of listening to others music, sometimes I hear some DOPE stuff, & I'm like man gottah step up my game!

i sometimes go back over old unfinished tracks - from a time when i used a completely different process and find a track i cant remember making.. listen until i find the best sound in it somewhere (sometimes i come across sounds ive made that i have no idea how i came across it) and pull it out as new sample and make a brand new track around it.

ive got hundreds of old unfinished bit of tracks sitting around.. if my creativity is running low i go digging through them and remix.

then listen to ur favorite producers, this should b inspiring

I dunno, sometimes I smoke and i can work all day. But other times it only guarantees that I won't make anything of value. I think smoking helps if your already pumped to make jams or your picking up something youve already begun whether be just in your head or already on a disk. If I have no initial goal and i smoke, I'll wander all day.

Stop making beats for a month or so, I had a break in nearly a year because of the same reason.. Buy a bunch of old vinyls and start playing them like it was your favourite cd, somehow you will end upp with some ill minded shit.

I'm all too familiar with this shit- I get hit with it far too often. Unfortunately, I'm feeling most creative and full of ideas when I first get to work in the morning- though by the time I get home after my shift, I'm wiped. :? These days, it takes a rare slow day off where I actually have the urge to do something...yeesh. Someone slap me.
