what effects to use on snares?

use more than one type of snare. choose one you like then go thru more and find one that sounds good wit the first one. turn that joint down a bit. throw u an nice reverb in there. thats what i do. a lot of times when i track/record into c.e.p. i get a lot of noise. i use the hiss reduction or noise reduction and that (for some reason) gives this grimy dirty oldschool sound to my drums. i love it. dosnt always work out that way, but the last couple beats i've done the drums come out nice after that hiss reduct.
