My thoughts exactly, and guess what? Im currently raiding my bank account once again to fund a keyboard purchase :) lol

Man this music making is a damn expensive hobby!!! At some stage I'd better drop a dope beat to pay for some of this stuff

Just kiddin, luckily I had savings, but I ain't got much left now, especially after the imminent keyboard purchase

i think what makes timbo so damn dope is his ability to change his style and stay ahead of the times. I still trip out when I listen to Aaliyah "Try again",big pimpin, jigga what, get ur freek on, cuttin it etc. etc.

Honestly I get more excited about a new Timbaland track then a new Dre track.

Just my opinion.

man's a tuff producer, topclass!!! never been a "sample" based producer but he goes from hip-hop to r'n'b to pop & even rock. big versatility!
Timbo, always had keyboards: ASR-10, Triton,Motif...

It kinda hard for me to really find a catalgory to Tim put in. He's more of a
all around producer. I don't know what he done more of Rnb or Hip Hop??
I really Respect him,but I wouldn't put him Top 5,Cuz he really makes more dance track and Club than Street Tracks and don't hang out in clubs.

Go figure!?!@?

Yeah thats a pretty fair comment......

I must admit that the club stuff appeals to me more for a couple of reasons, they probably explain why I like Timbo so much and get so exited about his new tracks. Firstly I was a massive Michael Jackson fan and love those crisp, hard hitting beats, grew up listening to alot of Prince, MJ, Alexander O'Neil etc as well.

Secondly, although I would like to think that I have a firm grasp on Hip Hop, its roots etc, I am realistic and as an Englisman living in a middle class family I probably don't have the faintest idea about the real underground stuff, the struggle etc and so am realistic about what I can make and to be fair what I like and understand, so its club bangers all the way for me man :) lol

I think that even if your not a huge fan of Timbo, like you put it, you can still appreciate the technique, the ability to stay fresh etc etc, I just feel that the guy is, and has been on fire for a long time.

Timbo samples like crazy. He might not do it the same way as a Pete Rock, Premo, or Alchemist. You guys who don't think Timbo samples need to hear his Sample Mix. It's raw. He'll take anything!!!!!

Did I ever said he never used to sample???
He often add arangments, synth arangment :) to things he sample...
