koolshah, yeah thats exactly what I mean.

if you have a one note sample that at some point is pretty steady in pitch you can set that region up as a loop. this is tricky and as i was saying much much easier in software that will automatically snap the loop start and loop end to zero crossings. by doing that it sets the loop to points where the waveform is at the exact same position (vertically) at both ends. this helps not get a nasty click every time the very short looped section loops.

you can do this on the mpc by going to the loop screen and setting the start point then scroll the loop end point back and forth until it starts to sound like one continuous (sustained) note. then scrub over 1 decimal place at a time on with the wheel and fine tune it until you have a good loop. it takes some time and paitience but you should take the time to get the hang of it. it is essential sampler knowledge.

I've been trying that forever and I still get pops. So far I have only been able to sustain a synthlead note. What gives? :?

drop $100-200 and get a s2000, or a s900/s950, this is exactly what they're made to do and have auto locators, crossfade, pre-set envelopes, etc....you'll drive yourself crazy drying to get it clean on the MP. If you really have to, cut the loop part of the wave in half, reverse it, and paste the 2nd half at the peak, then loop that section that you just made...that's about as close as you're gonna get....
