That can only be done with something like an SP-303 which has knobs. Maybe I should get an effects processor.

it can be done with anything that allows realtime manipulation or automation

I can control the cutoff filter on my MPC in realtime, sort of

yo coocoo is right, he just did a track in real time, **** with the filter cutoff, while he was recording. If thats not how he did it, that method would work.

There's your answer.
Your over thinking the problem and the solution is right in front of you.
Just listen to it and think about what you are hearing, if you know your gear it shouldn't be a problem.
Contrary to what it seems Pete's methods are pretty simple and straight forward, he just thorough on the gear he uses.
I anybody has played guitar and they are a Wah user they will understand quickly why you know that he's not using a Wah pedal.

If you want to get a better understanding take a couple of hours today to listen to Bootsy's first two albums, that should help your perspective quite a bit.

that's no auto wha, that's a vox or a crybaby fosho , but i don't now how he link it , because of the IMPEDANCE.

Don't know about the Vox, but it's probably the same as the Crybaby, which has a high impedance input and a buffered output which doesn't create any problems really. You only really get problems when you plug something into an input with too low an impedance, like a guitar into a line input.

he isnt using any gtar pedals or any shit like that. He is using an lfo envelope on the filter cutoff to make it sweep. Or using a filter effect unit with an lfo. Its actually real simple.
