sample-based producers VS non-sample-based producers

yeah i hear that... i'm too new to know at this point exactly what type i really prefer... right now i'm tryin' to f**k with anything and everything... i wanna be able to produce different types of music like house, drum & bass, reggae, some rock, hip hop, r & b, maybe sample some jazz stuff too... but yeah thanks for the feedback yall...

you ll need both
if you wanna play the piano, a keyboard will be your best bet
its pretty hard to find an entire keyrange on vynil
you can map a sampled C on the entire keyrange or make a multi with timestretch and all but thats not accurate and sounds like krap

You are right, if you play a keyboard, you sample too.
you can sample from other keyboards, you can re-sample your own stuff and you can sample another mans work. and thats what most hip hoppers understand by sampling, stealing a musicians sound. no beef intended, i steal too
If I remember correctly, sound sampling is invented by Phillips in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. By sampling and looping a sound on tape. I think it was around the time the first analog synths came out.
