unfortunately i use an mpc1000 so i doubt it is as possible but eventually i plan on getting an mpc2000xl for live use.

yeah nah I cant play a 1000 like that cos it doesnt have the double trigger thing!!

my layout is

13. Crash 14. Crash2 15. splash cymb 16. ride cymb
9. tom 10 tom 11 tom 12 tom <-- for other shit i put stab samples here
5 snare 6 the same snare 7 open hihat 8 semi-closed hithat
1 kick 2 same kick 3 closed hihats 4 china cymbal

maybe ill do an instuction vid on how to use your right hand for bass and hats and left for snare...

I thought most of the good mpc users could play there mpc pads like that. I am suprised that alot of you were all that impressed. I read the comments before I watched the video so I was like woah this guy must be incredible. I thought it was good but I am sure anyone on here could do that if they wanted. That is what the MPC is for.

It's the coordination and timing, as well as the sampling and settings. I usually write my drum beats track by track and I've only had the mpc since September so it's all about the knowledge for me. I certainly can't play like that yet.

Yeah, after a few tours and lots of rehersals of pad banging, a couple of my pads went out, and I had to get a row of them replaced.
That's why I always take a 2nd MPC with me.
If that happened in the middle of a gig with no spare, you'd be fuuked.

yeah im thinking about getting an mpd to bash on so i dont kill my poor 4000, anyone used one? are the pads the same?! mine are just starting to get worn and really dirty from sweat n shit...

u cant really hear the hats stuff I do on that vid, ill try figure out if I can get direct audio from the mpc so its clearer

thats the idea. roger build the mpc as a replacment for a drumkit.
to practice: play the mpc as much as u can, tap your knees with your hands everytime you here a rhythm & finally practice your fingerwork on your girl
