Plain sounding Beats

Yea, I can say I sometimes find it hard to say when somethings done....Or 'can i make this better'

Im my own worst critic....Most my stuff, I dont really like or think its just 'OK'....On the other hand, I have to say, u do get this feeling when your shhhhitz rollin!


i think 'Most' stuff sounds empty or boring without vocals anyway.....Sometimes less is more tho

I gotta chime in on this one, its the drums man. Everything comes down to that, not even the percussion, THE DRUMS, the snare, kick and hi hat.

How they roll together dictates the rest of the beat, regardless if you got tinker bell sounds over it or the hardest loop ever, it aint nothing with out rolling drums.

yeah i pretty much agree with the rj quote.

theres no code to spicing up your beats.

experimenting is always good.
if your flipping a sample, think from the musicians perspective

what would they add to this if they were making a hip hop beat.

it's more paitence then anything probably, i mean you don't completly benefit from going through one-hits all day. but try to moderate your self and not get to stressed out.

for me. i tend to be the most productive when i have a clear head and a clear patteren of contemplation....... there are only so few people that can artisticaly excel when there mind is clouded with shit.



just try to keep that in mind. its not always technical shit somtimes it can be the mental stuff that holds you back.
