The funniest thing about my situation is I've been making beats and recording them for almost 4 years now. However, it wasn't until recently that I actually played them somewhere other than my room and realized how horrible my mixes were. This is extremely frustrating for me. So many CDs gone to waste. So much time spent doing things wrong. What a horrible way to learn a lesson.
I've been banging my head against the wall for the past two weeks trying all the stuff you guys have suggested. I'm leveling, EQing, comparing commerical mixes with my own, everything. It's just not working for me. It's like when everything passes through the mixer and into the CD burner it turns to shit. Am I REQUIRED to two track every instrument into a computer or multitracker and THEN mix? Or, can I make this work with just the MPC and the burner with the two channels on the mixer ferrying my sounds all at once?
I'm about to just give up on recording for the time being. It's **** up my creativity.
