A lot of DJ Shadow's samples is 6/8, but he lays drums straight on them so many people dont recognize it. Like this:
Sample:
1-2-3-4-5-6/1-2-3-4-5-6/1-2-3-4-5-6/1-2-3-4-5-6
Beat: (snare on 2 and 4)
1 - 2 - 3 - / 4 - 1 - 2 - / 3 - 4 - 1 - / 2 - 3 - 4 -
So the drums are in 4/4, but only three bars long, if you count the 1's. The sample is in 6/8 and repeats 4 times, one time every bar. But i guess his TS on the MPC is 3/4 or 6/8 and 4 or 8 bars long.
