doom sells tens of thousands, Viktor Vaughn sold over 20k, but 50 moves hundreds of thousands if not in the millions.

As far as classic albums, Quasimoto The Unseen is a classic for sure. But you're right, people don't make albums anymore, except just a few, like Masta Ace's last one, the whole thing is a story.

About classics.. I know know many don't, but I consider Operation Doomsday to be a classic too. One of my fav albums ever.

Sorry mattmatiks, but i disagree....i mean, I think he is tryin to make money....agreed! ...but i think he still puts out bangers cause he has a love for it....thats why they bang! I ve used presets, not cause im tryin to sound like such and such, or tryin to make a buck....but i sit down, and lay down a bassline that just makes me **** happy! cuase it bangs....and its a preset bass sound.

now am i being unoriginal? naaa, i made a bassline with "the sound" of my keyboard....just as if a bass player would with his guitar. Or MOzart would with his piano.

Think of all the dudes with fender stratocasters! yeah they got the same sound, but its how they lay the shit down! And more credit to the ones who get creative with molding thier sound sonically! like jimmy hendrix with a electric box, that some guy invented....or led zepplin turning thier tube amps all the way up, for natural distortion from the heated tubes!

Using presets and sampling only from original pressings is a different argument. Doing a puffy is somewhat related but not really, since I doubt most people here just loop that shit.

I guess sampling one note or drum hit isn't that bad, but it still doesn't sit well with me, and many people I know.

the quasimoto album has some ill beats, but i think that it was ruined by the rhymes... madlib and those lootpack fools got mediocre rhymes, and thats giving them the benefit... madlib got ill ass beats, but he should leave he mic alone... i was all hyped on the Lootpack lp before it dropped, i copped that ish on cd the day it came out and was bummed, its way too f'in long and not many rhymes actually stand out at all... i got the Lootpack lp instrumentals though, true fire!
