Indeed:

On topic: I use the MPC for everything BUT hip hop. It's perfect for dance music/techno/acid/dnb as well.

hahaha riiiight

I am a new MPC user and I love it. I've made a few break beat type things but today I had a break thru: note repeat.

I programmed a sort of skattered beat with all these snippet samples i made with my voice with an SK-1. They don't sound like the voice at all, totally bit grunged out --- 8-Bit

so the tempo was up 2 160 or so and just using the note repeat while changing the resolution, or timing rather with the mod wheel, man that was like the best control for instant drill/n/b idm shit. wow.

I got a card reader for my mpc but I actually decided to format it and use my own samples completely.

next up, sample my ESX-1 effected 50's rnb / rock and roll samples. doo woop, all that stuff.

so much fun

i'm sure people are making dubstep with mpcs right now somewhere... hahaha. wooommp!

peace :)

JD

edit: don't forget I don't have a functioning recording computer at the moment so I'm recording all my experiments onto tape. Warm!!!

Can't help but liken some of your tunes to early Photek. Beautiful work mate, added your SoundCloud to favourites for inspiration

cheers! :D

Seriously. If your music had a dick... I would suck it.

It's not the type of stuff that I would listen to everyday, but I have so much respect for the work, creativity, and originality of your tunes.

 On that note, I wonder how the mpc namesake would be forever changed if that was the case.

Ibunshi breakbeat tutorial needs doing really...

i dont really think what i do is any hard, its basicly just paying attention to the adsr on the hits i use, and that is usually mostly about ghosts, and then its all down to placing the hits when programming on the mpc.. and there is nothing sepcial i do then either... if i have an idea i just put it down, if not then i can basicly just play and be pretty random and still make groovy stuff going by the feel.. and this is one thing thats great with mpc's.. its all realtime, im physically connected to the instrument and my muscle movments is what creates the rhythms.. personally i could not see my self do the things i do on a computer, it would take way too much time to get things to flow well

anyway, not really up to write a tutorial as i dont think it would be of any use, also im kinda against tutorials... my techniques are pretty simple afaik.. but dont mind answering questions if there actually was any though :D
