For the record, if u sample stuff from anything that was previously recorded, you are sampling from a producer...so your comment about sampling from producers is really crazy...a sound is a sound, you can take the drums from Grindin, and if u make a song, I bet it still won't sound like Grindin...

THe problem for me is that they are your contemporaries, I'm gonna go to everyones My Music page and jack your open loops and drums, maybe even copy some of your verses and rearrange them and have some retarded 6 year olds rhyme them and say they wrote the whole thing.

I'm sampling drummers, horn men, bassists, vocalists. If you sample my shit, you're sampling from a producer, or if you really want to get anal about it, a samplist.

It's funny because cats get so mad when people say "how do I get Madlib's drums" or"Kanye's sped up vocals" people say find your own sound. Yet some of these same cats think it's OK to sample these guys, next time there is a thread like that and the bellyachers start up, they should say what they are saying here " You want Madlib Drums, sample Madlib"

So you're telling me when Jay-Z sampled Nas' "World is Yours", that was wack? "Dead Presidents" is a classic. Or when DJ Premier sampled Chuck D on "Ten Crack Commandmants"; that was incest of hip hop? What u speaking of homes? Or when Kanye sampled the drums off of Dre's "Xxxplosive"? The list goes on duke. And i would love it if somebody sampled my ish, that just means it's hot as Hell.

If it's older it's a bit more acceptable, if it's an homage or part of a battle it makes sense, but still weak, old sounds scrounged to make a pound.

Yes it's wack, your examples are hardly the tightest beats those producers did, it just cashes in on the familiarity of the previous track.

All lazy and geigh efforts, cept premo, he's sampling a rapper, not a sample, can people please get the distinction? Vocals you are not sampling a sample, old hip hop vocals or new aren't really a problem, except that most new ones s u c k!

dj_2xL I dont buy cds with hopes of finding opend drums but if its as clear as day light...hell why not. A lil filtering and layering and its not the same drums. Ill sample your drums off your sound click page if they hot enuff, nucca im hungry. I dont give a fukk so if im wack, thats your feelings but you know what we will never meet anyways so why should i care what you thinka bout me.

This is what im talking about! The people who follow the so called rules are so ass backwards. How can somebody be a sampler when it comes to making there beats but put restrictions on what is and not allow.

Let me ask yall all a question. If you was to meet your fav. producer and yall talk and he decided to give you some drums and he said " I have made alot of hits with these drums do you should be straight". Would you take them or say no thanks!

OK, follow me slowly, Sampling a SAMPLE from a recent or oldish hip hop record is lazy and geigh. A vocal is first generation, and only available on that album.

I just think its hella lame casue why u gonna use some shit thats allready been pushed and pulled and processed and altered? when u can have a blank canvas with a old drum sound that hasnt been ran thru $150,000 ssl consoles with millions of dollars worth of mastering and all that crap? its just lame. do what u gotta do. if u feel drums are that important to jack your boys or ur peers then do u, but i would feel like a jerkoff doin that.
