RZA and MP7

yo i just got the composer rom and the protozoa rom for my mk-6 for 60 bux a piece

if you got a mophatt and want some regular sounds cop the composer rom, it's got mad keys and stuff, i;m a lil overwhelmed and haven't went through thourouly to explplore, jus on the surface and made a few tracks, but these things used to cost over 200 bux, so 60 bux is cool wit me

ok hear this, i was doing a comparison check with these different units. and my research showed me tht the - pk6, mp7 and xl7 are the same as the proteus 2500, with all the knobs and real time effects. well the pk6 has 4 outs, all the rest have six. (analog)

while the extreme lead was difeerent from all the other modules in tht it had less midi channels 16. to be exact, fewer filters, and the synthesis engine was not acoustic modelling

so wht i want to know is tht, does it seriouslt matter which other rack mount unit i am gonna get. either mo phatt, or proteus and interchange roms. these are going to be my bread and butter sounds. so i dont have to look at a computer screen ever when composing a beat. ever , ever , ever, ever
i absolutelt hate making beats while looking at a computer screen, AT THE INITIAL EMBRYONIC STAGES
after i get the idea of what instruments are gonna be used, and the initial sound, then i can change whatever trak, to a vst i . and take my time and tweak.
if anyone gots any ideas on the fore mentioned instruments, many thanx, cause over here in uk, the prices are stuuuuuuuuuuupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a 2500, is like £400
proteus £260
pk6 £220
extreme lead £200
mo phatt, £ 300
mp7 £350
roms are like 75 a piece.

the proteus is suppose to be a lil bit better and i think the racks have more outputs, but if you get a rack or a keybaord or the command station it will be the same depending on which roms you get

I would suggest the extreme lead turbo, it has all the features as the proteus 2000 as far as the # of midi channels, filters, ect.
The reason that I suggest the xl turbo is because alot of people has slept on this rack and the price is cheaper than the other racks, I don't know the currency rate where you are to US dollars but I got my xl turbo for $220 while a used proteus 2000 was $400 and the Mo Phat was $600.

yeah thanx man, ^^^^^, the prices kinda roll, similar, so i wasnt too bad off. good looking yo. the only thing is i need to find is a turbo board, ause they sure aint selling them with it installed.

what are you going to use as the sequencer?

because the mp7 has a sequencer......so does the xl7 and px7 (anything with 7 on it)and so does the proteous 2500 rack version

the mophatt rack does not

niether does the proteous 2000, or any other rack of that series.

The Mk6, pk6, Xk6, VK6, and halo......are keyboard versions of the racks(any thing with a 6 on it).....all they have are sounds and keys, no sequencer.

The racks just have sounds.

If you are going to use the mpc as your sequencer....then i would get a rack, as they are cheaper and more portable....and JONESPICE IS RIGHT...however it is still nice to have a midi keyboard connected so that you can play the keys. Otherwise you will have to use the mpc pads (which may or may not bother you). If you have an el cheapo midi keyboard that will work.

If you get the mp7, px7, or xl7....you can use its own seqwuencer.....or still use the mpc to control it....its a plus because you can always just transport it and not need to bring the mpc. I personally use the px7's sequencer....but have the mk6 keyboard midi up, so that i can play its sound on keys....and if i want i sample the sounds into the mpc, or can midi all of them up and control them with the mpc

i checked around, but not seeing any turbo boards, so i think i am gonna cop the p2k, with a 1 xtra sound rom for now.

If anyone is interested, I'm selling the sounds of the zr rom for $50. I really never used them, because I was suppose to get a second emu rack ( proteus 2000) but that deal fell thru and I had already purchased the sounds of the zr as well as the beat garden roms, I just sold the beat garden rom yesterday, so if you're interested in the sounds of the zr then e-mail me at [email protected]
