Thats fine, I just think people need to "Just do whatever they want." If they make music for others so be it, if they make music for themselves, so be it. I could care less about what people think is the RIGHT thing to do, I make music to feed my family. It's my job. Some people work for big, mid or small companies doing what they do to make ends meet. I just happen to do it in a field not to many people have as a "9 to 5." Plus analying someone elses craft is just another way of saying "my opinion" anyways!!!

Actually I was referring to the post. The author had a different question from were some people took it. I was trying to get the topic off "FU@K listeners, I'm not making my music to please them" to "this is how to get the SP1200 sound on an MPC". And please money I don't even know you so there's no need for your hiphop purist comments over here fam...

Purist? Yeah you dont know me. it just seems like you skim the posts and then just say some dismissive thing while stating 4 times in every post that you work in music.

It doesn't seem like you put much into your posts, and it shows, so why post at all?

docmartin120 wrote:Way to much analyzing going on. If people just made music for themselves ONLY there would be no need for communicating with other people about music or equipment or anything else for that matter. You would NEVER play your music for ANYONE and it's just a hobby. That's cool but I like the music I make and it just happens that some people are willing to pay me for my craft. Some of you'll need to loosen up for real... Way to much thinking and not enough feeling equals WACK MUSIC!!!

Actually I only said it once and I don't have to apologize for saying it either. Plus I can post when and where I please. You don't have to reply if YOU don't like what I say. And your right, I'm not on these boards everyday all day like some people I see. Does that mean your input is to be appreciated more because you don't have a life??? NOOO!!!!

By elmacaco Wed May 11, 2005 1:24 am
No, but damn, say something, you're not saying anything, also you missed one.

Again, I'm a grown azz man dog!!! Just because YOU aren't helped by things I say, don't speak for others. You do that alot I might add. Just stick to giving technical pointers and NOT musical ones. I would just love to hear YOUR music  Most people who are technical, are technical to cover up their non-musical talents... please believe!!!

Plus not all of your posts are helping either are they???

but you write the parts of the genre that you enjoy rather than what everyone enjoys, it is where the two overlap. If there is a very popular house track that has a part that you find annoying, do you try and recreate that part because everybody else likes it? I would think not. And if you are making house, I would think it is because you like that genre and the rules associated with the musical structures used are things that speak to you. As a musician, things that you like will probably appeal to others.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

ah but the difference with club based styles is that peeps make very little cash from it yet there are people who spend all day writing tracks for clubs- tracks i may add they only expect one person out of the audience to buy- the dj, therefore it cant be just for themselves and as im inspired by house, techno, breaks, dnb artists as well as other genres when im doing house music i am thinking of a dance floor full of sweat heads really getting off on the tunes.....

i do know what your saying i just dont think its as polarized as your making out.....i certainly wouldn't do this if i got some sort of personal enjoyment out of it but also wouldn't do it if no one ever felt my tunes....

If you wanna change the subject back to the orignal Q, then there are other ways of doing it rather than come at it with the attitude of a bull dog. How's your music btw? Subtle as a sledge hammer?

" I would just love to hear YOUR music Most people who are technical, are technical to cover up their non-musical talents... please believe!!! "

You have no idea what you are talking about. Just cos you have met a couple of guys who only know the tech side of things, don't presume all people are so one sided. Real talent takes in everything. And it shows in Els music.

Money AGAIN, if you read my statement I said, and YOU have the damn quote in your rely " I would just love to hear YOUR music Most people who are technical, are technical to cover up their non-musical talents... please believe!!! "

It's real funny how alot of people on the internet get feelings when someone speaks what they feel. I could care less about whos feeling are hurt. Are you serious??? And I have posted music on here before but do to people thinking I was rubbing sh!t in their face rather than letting them in on some behind the scenes industry sh!t, I STOPPED!!!

But it's all cool fam... we can agree to disagree!!

but uhm......anybody else try the plugin??? :P

By elmacaco Wed May 11, 2005 3:42 pm
I'm all for industry behind the scenes shyt, post up, that's cool, but just give us more than just announcing your opinion like it's coming off mount zion n shyt. Anybody can go to every topic and reply "Who cares?! Just make music!!" and it contributes nothing, it's a no brain response.

Anyhow, DUb, I hear you, it isn't that polarized, you're right.

I'd probably still make music if nobody felt it, but it sure feels good when cats do!

Slow day for me today. I can't believe I'm replying to this sh!t!!! :( AGAIN I can write WHATEVER I WANT!!! One persons garbage is another persons gold. When you say sh!t that may not help someone I'm not calling you out. Who cares??? This is Mpc-tutor's site not elmacaco.com. And you should start your own site if that is what you want in a site. Right???

Also that plugin is pretty ill. I tried it awhile back. There are alot of wav. editing possibilities that are pretty ok for effect use on a sample.

By elmacaco Wed May 11, 2005 4:14 pm
yeah, I know it's not my site, it's just funny that you as an industry cat on here, probably one of the few that are open about being from the industry, talk loud and say nothin.

I have hardware bit decimators and they sound crazy, especially on 12 bit samples.

I'm thinking I really need an 8 bit sampler, in a rack, but I can't mess wth the mirage's hex codes.

Again I'm sucka in. Actually I know who's in the industry on here. There is this thing called PM. So what I let it be known, I put my time in. Some cats just don't want to deal with cats like you on here. Thats why they post PM to me, or IM me on personal time or we just see each other in passing. So whatever money!!! I can say nothing (your opinion) and still be OK with myself... thats cool too!!! I don't help people unless they ask for my help. (out of respect, because whos to say they wanted it?) And I like how you actually flowed suit by saying something about the real topic at hand... right after I did. hahaha what a joke!!
