Cormega is wack. No one with pride in their flow would put out a CD with that many mistakes on the mic. Throw that away before you talk about Lil Jon.

My name is Hip Hop.

He makes Techno! Listen to Rabbit in the Moon or Orbital (if you know who they are) ,they make better music than lil Jon. And, the way he act's makeswish the brother wasn't black, He's a Sambo for real!

I consider Producers like Timbaland, Neptunes, Jazza pha to be more Pop Producers than anything. Doesn't mean are bad it's just they are Hip-Pop!!
I call the Rza( who (Really doesn't Sample Much),Large Pro and your Pete Rocks more Hip Hop Prod. I like that Style !

Lil Jon makes Hiphop, just because it ain't your flavor of Hiphop doesn't mean it ain't Hiphop...

btw, I don't own any Lil Jon or Eastside Boyz albums....I just don't schit on something that isn't what closeminded people call "real Hiphop"......

and to answer your original question regarding "Boom Bap" producers.....thats an old and dated style thats why.......and no people don't hate it.....it's just tired and overdone....I've been listening to Hiphop since the mid 80s at least, and if the sound then would be the sound of now, Hiphop would have been a fad....but music evolves.....styles change.....just because you want to be stuck in an era that was VERY FRESH, doesn't mean that others can't move on to appreciate the new styles.....Just think if people didn't evolve the sound...we'd still be hearing beats with a basic drum machine......and NO samples....Kurtis Blow was the first to use a sampler in his music because his dj couln't keep the break on time...that is evolving......chopping is a form of the music evolving from just looping...incorporating actual instruments is evolving, etc etc.......

The main point is every region has its' own main style of music...just cuz the styles are different doesnt mean to call it wack, unless the person really dont know what tha hell they were doin on tha track. BTW, being simple isnt necessarily easy, its hard to keep music simple and hott at the same time unless u have the skillz to do so.

On the sampling vs composition tip...both takes artistic talent and i think the two types of music can't be compared like that. Let's face it, in the long run whether u do one or the other or even both, we are all still musicians/artists at the end of the day.

Boogie Man hit the nail on the muthafkin head people don't hate on boom bap they just don't want to hear that shitt no more, and they don't wanna buy the records, if I played boom bap for my girl who is a typical top 40 listener she will be like turn that shiiit off!!! boom bap is an underground thing that only underground heads listen to, so don't plan on Boom Bap taking Lil' John's spot, ITS NOT GONNA HAPPPEN!!!!!!!! this is hip-hop, if you ask me hip-hop is about new styles and sounds not old shitt from hella long ago, and no, I don't got no platinum plaque but I'm not gonna stop making beats and getting tighter until I do
