no one is saying they are not using the tracks when they said they use one mpc track for all of their drums. an mpc is not just to utilize
all of the tracks. it's to program your drums using your hands on the pads. to me in my opinion, an mpc is in this order: sampler then drum machine, then midi sequencer. so to that effect, you sample/import in your drum samples, bang away your beat then sequence in any other midi instrument/samples you want.
now me personally, i stated i use 1 mpc track to do all of my drums, then use any subsequent track(s) for everything else.
also again, there is no right way or wrong way to use the mpc's tracks. it's all according to how comfortable you feel working. you establish your own work flow.
