16bit to 12bit on mpc - Has anyone tried this?

I read the faq's page and it said you can convert samples to 12bit, has anyone tried this? if so, can this be done on the MPC 2000 and which window do you use for the EDIT function?[/color]

I'm not sure about the 2000 because i don't own one. But on the 2000xl it goes something like this:
from the TRIM, LOOP, or ZONE screen, select the 'Snd:' field and press OPEN WINDOW. Press CONVRT (f3) and select RE-SAMPLE with the DATA-wheel. Press NEXT. And go to NEW BIT.
It takes a long time to resample though.[/color]

right on, I can pass the knowledge to my friends with xl, 'cause on my 2000 it doesn't have the feature

i've tried it a couple of times, but I think it just adds "air" to the sample in a bad way..it's not like using an sp or other 12-bit samplers...[/color]
