i am using an MPC 2000 and i have some questions

first. when i tap metronomes, every 8th one always sounds louder like a snare and i dont really want that to happen. how do i get rid of that.

secondly. how do i save as a wav file every time i try i get a midi option and snd.

thirdly. there are many times a double beat comes out when i tap the pad just once. is there something i can do to stop this or am i just a nervous wreck??!!!! ???

Oye.

I dunno if the MPC2K (non XL) can adjust the metronome at all, but the XL can change the sound for it and everything.

To save a sample as a wav rotate the Save File type to Save Sample, hit OK at which point you'll be prompted to save either as a wav or an snd file. Choose wav. To select it just turn the dial.

I've heard a few other people mention this double-beat thing, but I've never had it happen. Either your pads are worn out and need cleaning or replacing, or your finger is bouncing. I cleaned out my machine as soon as I got it and it hasn't failed me yet. (shipped around the world used but got it for spare change!) There was a helluvalot of dust and cobwebs in there, which might've mangled circuits and stuff given time with current running through it.

So I'd assume you're a nervous wreck.

In cleaning out the MPC, I just opened her up and wiped out most of the offending areas where dust and stuff had accumulated using a barely moistened towel so it'd pick up the crud. It must've been sitting around a while before I got it because it was FRICKIN dusty.

I don't know how well advisable this is (because of the wetness on the cloth, no matter how light the wetness is. But opening up the MPC is not an issue. You have to do so just to install memory or the EB16 (which I wish I had) or any other upgrade.
