Mpc Drum Pattern .. Help

i've noticed that im having some drum pattern trouble in my tracks cause im not getting the kind of swing or I should same pattern rythm on my beats. I noticed on songs that i listen to how the sequence of the drums is quick, and adds that street flava drum pattern. i cant think of a song but i guess i'll say probably most of camrons tracks have what im lookin for. Are the kicks or snares note repeated cause they sound quick even when the melody of the track is slow. Any suggestions.
BTw, im on mpc and i usually use 1/16,1/32, but i found that using time correct makes beats sound kinda not mechanical.
im new to the mpc so i havent really mastered the drums skills like some of you guys have.
any suggestions will definetly help me and everyone else make bangers.

sometimes the metronome throws you off, by that I mean you end up doing plain kick snare kick snare...... I love drumpatterns that has like 6-8 bd in a bar.. Like say kick--snare-kickkick-kicksnare-kikick---kick

1/16 aint never shaking shit for me

I'd start with atleast 1/32, cause then you can actually nail some dbl kicks and shit

Id suggest getting used to that metrodome, when you get your natural rhythm down when you can go without it, turn it off and do your own thing, cause I noticed that shit was **** me up

and ya recreating shit will really advance your game

good lookin on the tips.. i was peepin CNN's Cd "the Reunion", that album got some hot drum beats on there. but like u guys mentioned i noticed a lot double kick beats and sometimes triple kicks on the first beat. i will try doin this on 1/32 but will have to adjust the swing to get it just right. definetly got some good ideas by listening and just counting out 1234. i was really fealin one of the first tracks that kicks drums all throughout the look, made the track real street.

i would say learn the step sequencer. you can put a note where ever you want. i start off w/ a simple kick snare pattern and then listen to it over and over and get ideas for more hits, then either overdub or step rec more kicks/snares. i like to F w/ the hats too.

sequence your snare first. press stop. Then get crazy with your kicks, this way you wont get stuck with kick snare kick snare syndrome.....................

I do my kicks and snares on one track at once. Get that boom bap goin. Then erase the snares then lay them into a diffrent track.
