Hi all,
i'm an hip hop producer and i had produced in the past, first with an Amiga 500, next with the Akai S-950, and then with a Mac G4 and Digital Performer 4 sequencer doin' all in audio.
Now i wanna catch again the feel of an instrument for droppin' my beats cause composin' music with a mouse in my hands isn't fashionable for me...
I wanna a good production instrument also for live performance and i was thinkin to buy an MPC but i dunno if i have to catch the 1000 or the 2000xl for a complete music production. ( i wanna use the Mac only for mixing)
I know something about the 2000xl but nothing on the 1000...
somebody wanna help me pls?
Sorry for my very bad english...
peace

if your working with a computer along side the MPC I would suggest the 1000....Its really easy transfering .WAV files from the computer to the MPC...Editing of samples can be done on the computer and easily loaded up in the MPC....also it basically has 8 outputs if you include SPDIF...

always remember when your this late in the game, your question has been asked already, using the search feature will help you greatly

Only reason I would prefer the 1000 would be because of the ease of use with the computer but if I was trying to stay in the MPC as much as possible I'd consider the 2000xl or the 4000

I dont think anyone can answer that but you. My opinion-2000xl
I won't fake the funk though, the 1k can get the job done as well.

Ok good guys tnx... but in many place i read that the MPC1000 is like a mini MPC... aka isn't a complete production center like the 2kXL...

Sorry for the search... this is my first time on a forum...

if you can put together a dope beat it doesnt matter whether its the 1000 or the 2000xl....basically there are a few differences but they are really minor in the end...you still gotta sequence your samples in the exact same way..... just a matter of making it bang no matter what your using....it just comes down to which features you prefer in the end..both operating systems work the same.....

Buy the 1K, save the extra dough and use it to buy the next peice of gear (there's always another peice of gear you NEED). MPC are tight ass peices of gear, but it's not the end all of gear. There is a spectrum of sound out there.

some people seriously need comprehension courses. He said he only wants to use the mac for mixing.
cause composin' music with a mouse in my hands isn't fashionable for me...
i wanna use the Mac only for mixing

Its obvious he'd be more inclined to use a setup WITHOUT a computer.

check on ebay for a 2kxl.
