thanx for the info from the last post but give me some info on how and what the steps should be on assigning to pads and than putting them together for a song. how is this done. it just seems kinda hectic. for example:pad 1a-drums pad 2a-bassline-pad 3a guitar riff..........is this the way it is done and than how would u combine into a song. be good. one

To be able to program a beat you must first understand the basic concept of rythm....listen to your favorite song and try to pick out each seperate part in the drum beat (ie. Kick, Snare, highhats, cymbals ect....) Now think of it like each sample you assign to a pad on the MPC is like a seperate part in your Drum Kit. After you have all the sounds (parts)assigned to different pads, you have to play the pads in a certain tempo while recording that information into the MPC's sequencer. If your too lazy to program samples onto the pads you will not get very far with your MPC...
