Live bands, individual players, vocalists indoors/outdoors, sex (mine, of course), car accidents, children, people with accents (like grandma, miss her to death)

I mainly use it for Ambience and stuff for Sound tracks and Sound design.
I'm gonna start to use it more for percusion stuff, there are alot of "Drum Circles" in my area.

As an aside: you mentioned your grandmoms.
i saw a documentary yesterday of a guy who films his grandma as she turns 96, on hbo. He asks her all types of crazy sh*t. It's called 9 Good Teeth. A Gypsy told the grandma, when she was a young girl, that she'd pass away when she turned 96. Listening to someone that age reflect on their life, is some worthwhile sampling.

take you minidisc to the music store (guitar center, sam ashe) and sample there SH*T. i use to do that.

I bought the Sony MZ-R90 around 3-4 years ago off ebay, from a wholesaler in Japan. I don't remember what i payed. It was cheaper than retail, though.
