Hello,
It's not so simple to make a big sound with a small pattern.
See this example :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9WpERMtL-AY

At the beginning I know how to do : Kick / Hihat (0'00 - 0'24"),
but then it becomes more groovy (more hihat /snare)

Not so easy to do such a Pattern !
(with just TR909 or TR909 samples)

I would like to know some tricks to do such patterns !

Would someone explain me how to do such a simple
(but goooood) sound, with that groove ?

Any tutorial ?

* What effects to apply ? (sidechain?)

PS : this song is just an example, I 'm interested in any
classic house loop !
Other example in French touch house :

Merci beaucoup / Thanks in advance !

Regarding the Eddie Amador track, Drums sound like there are more then just one sound goin togheter, like a 909 hat + a low pitched shaker, then its all compression and eq done right, also you should try experimenting with the quantize, makin things movin a bit more, Swing is key for most house music tracks

Thanks to the answers !

It's not so easy... With just a MPC or drummachine to make a good house loop...
I'm sure most productions use effects, etc.

Which effects ? How ?

Thanks for any tutorial ;)

And here is a tip stop staring at your JJ os screen with all those bars and sh*t like on cubase and use your ears thats what the mpc is all about not all this oh I have to put a open hat on every third and now i will progeam this now that..that's not what MPC's are about imo and thats why I use one mainly over computer based programing.
Just tap away the rhythm in your head on those pads and you will have the sound you are after simple.
If it sounds and feels right it IS RIGHT
I already mentioned how important swing is in this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoOeP8eG ... annel_page
If the video is a little vague is cos I don't exactly want to tell every one shi* so then every one copys and sounds the same

Probably the best tipp to give!

Your beats are still superior but still simple - I can say that is very hard to acheave.
Everybody knew the recipe and your beats are still outstanding - even after all these years...
