overnight celebrity

do any of u guys know what kind of snare kanye uses for this track? ive tried layering different snares, but i keep coming up waaay off

I dont think any1 can answer that question except kanye himself..my suggestionis to either sample the snare yourself (as he bit the drums of Dre for some of his stuff), or u can keep trying layering the millions of snare sounds out there to get something close...

Lets not forget that that snare is most likely EQ'ed and compress'ed so no dry sound may sound like that necessarily....hope this helps

kanye didnt actually bite the sounds themselves on xxxplosive. he bit the drum pattern. thats his foundation. all of his drum patterns are variations of it on every song.
