i dont know why but weird things happen if you play a song from a CD through the mpc

normally the song is distorted except for the parts where the rapper has doubled over their vocals, which you can hear perfectly.
and also some sounds you simply cannot hear at all.

why is this...please don't tell me my sampler's faulty

Try different cord. I had this problem until I changed to a different Y adapter. Don't know why this happened or how I actually corrected but it worked.

i doubt it's the cord or the setup...well i aint an expert but what i mean is that some songs are normal and others distorted, and also some songs are a mix of both, i.e. the music is distorted but the vocals are clear.

i was playing one song- Let's Grow- Royce da 5' 9 (not to sample, just to hear what different songs sound like through the mpc), and everything is real quiet, almost inaudible, except for the parts where he's doubled over his vocals on certain words and in the chorus.

are you listening in stereo or in mono? Some recordings have only some of the instruments on the left channel and others on the right...
