Changing note-off on wave samples

I loaded some wave files from a friend that has a MPC4000 and a lot of the samples are set to note off in my MPC2000XL and it won't allow me to change them to mono. Is it possible to fix this? If so, how? I would like to switch them to mono.

the only reason i can think this may be is if they are looped.....even if it is a fudge loop the sound will still be default to note off....

to check either make sure the sample is not looped ie the loop paramter is set to off...

or in the envelope screen change the type from end to beginning.....that should chnge the sound back to poly or mono.....

first way works better imo...
