Whats the best KeyBoard Available on the Market Right Now.
Plan on copping one this summer.
Got $800 To Spend.

I do Reggae,hipHop,And R&B Productions.

It completely depends on what type of sounds you want. Do you want realistic or "synth sounding" sounds?

This type of questions are most likely to get a good answer if you put it like "keyboard X vs keyboard Y, which one is better?", which is a lot easier to answer.

I always went to the music shop and played around with the keysboards before I choose a month or two before until I had the money. I also visit the makers website to listen to the demos and checked out the list of musicians using their equipment. Finally if someone was in a band around the way I checked out how he or she played it and maybe borrowed it for a few days.

check out the emu stuff....you could probably pick up to romplers or vas for the price-

everyone seems to be using atriton in rn'b and hip hop- dont get one...get something else.....maybe a trinity...or something

I'd save up a couple more bills and get a classic Motif.

well 800 bucks will only get you so far, as far as the latest keyboards. Do you want a rompler or a VA, or oldschool analog? That is pretty much your choices. a rompler is a keyboard with Samples on a rom that produce the sound combined with digital synthesis. A VA is a virtual analog, basically emulates oldschool analog synths. Analog synth is electric signals turned into sound via synth and circuits.

If your doing techno or electronica id say get a VA or analog, but if you dont want just "electronic" type sounds, a rompler will do you good. Usually a rompler will have a broad range of sounds, from pianos, to fuzzy leads. Dont get me wrong though, with a va you can get some very good sounds i.e. electric pianos, strings, basses, etc. But with a rompler you will be able to get "acoustic" sounds, and the bread and butter. you can always synthesis to get those electronic sounds with a rompler, but you cant sample with a VA synth to get those acoustic sounds....ya know? a triton is a rompler, but makes very good use of synthesis to create some wicked VA type sounds, and can add an expansion board "moss" wich is a va synth.

for around 800 bucks, you will most likely be best off choosing a "rack" version of a synth, and adding a midi controler keyboard like the "midiman radium" racks are very good choice. try the motif rack, or the roland xv 5050. basically the keyboard, but without keys in a rack, meant to be space concious. very good price wise.

FOR THE PRICE of one triton studio 61 key keyboard($2600) , you can get 3 rack synths and a controler keyboard: a motif rack($1000), roland xv5050($900), and a korg ms2000r($500), controler ($200), thats 3 awesome synths any body would like to own, even just one.

Boards like: triton, motif, and fantom are not only keyboards but are workstaions, meaning that it has a sequencer, and sampler as well. Workstations are very nice, but have high price tags because of the features. the rack versions are usually minus the sequencer and sometimes the sampler.Other good choices in the 800-1200 price: roland xp 30, korg ms2000 (va), emu pk6 or mk6,
triton le, kurzwiel pc1x.

if you go with anything from EMU be sure to get expansion roms, because you will need them. I own the mk6 (mophatt version of keyboard) and without expansion card, all you really get is drums, and basses. but really anything in the 1000 price range you will have to go with a rack. The triton le is very good as well (ive owned one) plus it comes with a sampler option and sequencer.

I now use the triton studio. Sometimes though i wish i would have gone with racks, because of space, and $$$$ i can get more racks for my money, and they work just the same. The features of a workstation like the triton, really are not essential if you have an mpc.

very good advice. the price drop makes them affordable and for sure an awesome keyboard.......actually i might do that.
