what is mean with " a chopped up sample"

Its when you take a sample, and "chop" or "slice" it into different pieces and rearrange the order, so it sounds different than the original sample. Think DJ premier, for example...


I have a "Chopping tutorial" on my website, under features. You should peep it... :wink:

oh yeah, i know what you mean!

It's the zone function that can short pieces of the loop lay down on my pads! i'll check your homepage for more informations!

yeah "chopping" means "cutting"

like you got a 10 second sample that you slice (slice=cut in english) in 5 pieces each

"chopping" samples is how you can get really creative in this sampling ish ya know

in the edit mode on the 4k, I guess you can chop with the zone fonction, not sure though, as my 4k is not sleeping at home and I don't use the edit fonctions on the 4k...

It is the same, but it is called regions instead of zones like the 2000. You set the number of regions to slice, check the bpms in the bpm page press edit button, go to region slice page and finally slice it into a program and or a sequence also if you wish.

Just follow Deception tutorial to the T and ya in there!!!!
