Also keep in mind that the effects on the MPC's are far more than just useable.
The biggest problem is that they require a lot more work than most are capable of or willing to put in.
Both dedicated effects units and DAW's tend to have effects that are designed with quick results in mind.
They have presets and parameter controls that were developed to be close to what a person may be looking for.
Typically something similar to what was used in a certain song or by a certaion engineer.
What this does it give you something thast sounds pretty good pretty fast.
The biggest use of the MPC's build in effects probably comes from live work or people who aren't going to send it to a DAW.
Take what Lamp said and combine it with what Dab said and you kinda get the picture.
If you want to use them nothing wrong with that.
If they sound good to you or give you what you want that's fine.
If you know that you can get a better sound using something else then once again that's ok.
Just us whatever gets you where you are trying to be just don't forget the effects don't go to the Individual Outs on the 1k.
