Ghost notes are musical notes occurring in a rhythmic figure which are purposely deemphasized, often to the point of near silence. In popular music drumming these notes are played, "very softly between the 'main' notes," most often on the snare drum in a drum kit[

Casper told me to tell you that ghost notes is what gives your drumming (not sampling) performance that live convincing feel.

Much like it was stated before with a snare, it's usually the subtle accents that hit right before the main hit occurs. But it doesn't necessarily apply to just the snare only either.

love the ghosts, use it in most of my beats.. very very useful and powerful when it comes to creating movement.

I'm wondering how they are created? Like do you just do the same hi-hat sound or snare sound but at a practically silent volume?
