I guess it depends on the headphone jack. It's probably just a loss of highs or some kind of "pleasing distortion" scenario like so many others where some people find it appealing. I'd personally avoid such things, unless specifically going for an effect, and get a better interface if your headphone output sounds better that your main I/O.

I assume you're talking about an MPC though, which doesn't affect the interface in that case. Not only will you be limiting yourself to only a stereo out, but you'll also have to split the output into a dual mono LR pair with a specific cable if you want it to stay stereo going into your average audio interface's 1/4 inch line inputs. Regardless, try it. Sounds like hocus pocus to me though.

imo if you want more punch find it in the mix with plug-ins or eqing that seems like a janky way to get it..

if you want more punch try recording drums with all the air and layering the same sample on top of itself using the simul-play function in the program assign window with one filtered low and the one on top decayed shoter so you get the low thump of the bass or snare with all the air on it and the punch or snap of the unfiltered clean/no-air sample... works lovely..

Everything u just mentioned i already know.Im just tryin to have everything sound as good in the daw as it does in the drum machine. When i plug it up to the digi 003 it seems like it loses a little punch.Imma still play around and see what kind of results i get.
