midi question? 2 DAW

ok fam, i'm not new to this but i'm not good with midi stuff, i want to work more with my midi Equipment.
heres what i got going on right now, i got my VS880 i want to record into,but i cant get it to start my hr16,i have it hooked up like this i got my mopho and my edirol pcr-50 hooked together and outputs to inputs of the VS.i got my HR16in midi'd up to the VS out the VS is master.
what i want to do is be able to turn on the HR16 to play as it plays i can play my pcr50 along side the drums,and be able to play back what i recorded. but it's not happening when i push play on the VS only the play light lights up and flashes. \

should i daisey chain both the keyboard and the HR16 along with the VS?
i'm trying to work with midi only here an help is well appreciated.

oh i got a midipsort2X2 midi merger box can it be used in the mix here would it make it easier, right now the mpc is not in the picture,remeber only midi equipment right now.but it seems like i may need the MPc in there to controll things

can you explain that without gear numbers and letters,

and be more specific with your midi routing.


if you got the 2x2, i would suggest you send an out from that to the in on your sequencer and have the sequencer be the master.

then have the sequencer send data to the midi devices you want to control.

thats basically what i'm trying to do with out the MPC in there tho, i got my DAW(VS880) recording and trying to control everything via midi.


each midi piece is seprate from one another, except my MOPHO ,thats hooked straight to my midi controller out of the controller to the in of the mopho. then i got my drum mac connected to my Vs(which is my seq'r) but i cant get it to controll the drum mac.

ok there seprate intsruments and i would like to keep it that way except for the midi part i want the vs to cpntroll everything. ok right now i have it hooked up worng on the pix, as i have tried many ways to get it to work but nothing could it be asetting in the DAw?
@ TG i think i'll have to try that soon if i cant get it work properly going on day 2 of messin with this getting tried of messin around i want to do some recording

the only thing i can think of is a midi thru box

yeah, ima have to try that i just read up on a midi book i have that ,that may work best.
still have to daisey chain from the midibox

got it went VS to midibox which runs the mopho(to pcr 50) and the drum mac next i'll add the mpc to add more craziness

oh and the setting on the VS was what kicked my butt for some reason i have to have it on INT on my sys sync source, instead of EXT, i guess thats for runing with a computer software program.
